Is viagogo legit?
Global resale marketplace with a guarantee, but fees vary and are added late, and it has a long record with regulators. Turn on 'Include estimated fees'.
viagogo is a real, large resale marketplace owned by the same group as StubHub, and its guarantee replaces or refunds invalid tickets. Regulators in the UK and EU have repeatedly acted on how it shows prices and handles guarantee claims, and review scores are poor.
viagogo says its service and fulfilment fees have no fixed rate and change with demand and timing. Prices without fees are the default unless you turn on 'Include estimated fees'. The UK CMA is investigating fee display, and reviewers report a higher total after paying.
How fair is viagogo?
Five checks, 1–5 each. 3 is average for event tickets.

How a booking works
- Who you pay
- You pay viagogo, a resale marketplace. Tickets come from third-party sellers, some of them businesses.
- Guarantee
- viagogo Guarantee: valid, accurately described tickets delivered in time. If not, you get comparable or better replacements, or a full refund. Published exceptions apply.
- All-in pricing
- Not by default. Fees are variable, and you have to switch on 'Include estimated fees' to see totals. The UK CMA is investigating fee display (opened November 2025).
- Refunds
- Guarantee refunds cover invalid or undelivered tickets. For cancelled or postponed events, check the guarantee's exception list. There are no refunds for change of mind.
